Constipation, Hemorrhoids or Piles, and inactivity go hand in hand. If you have been constipated for quite a while, chances are you have hemorrhoids. If you are inactive because you just like sitting around or are confined to a bed or chair, then you will have constipation and hemorrhoids. So if you want to get rid of hemorrhoids, you need to take 3 steps. These three steps can be done at the same time, especially if you have hemorrhoids that are itchy, painful, and are in need of attention.First you need to do something about your hemorrhoids. There are many different natural remedies for reducing, relieving, and eliminating hemorrhoids. Since everyone is different in his or her chemical make-up and nutritional requirements, one remedy will not work for everyone. Each of you has to find out what remedy works best for you. Use the remedy that feels right for you, the remedy where you have the ingredients, or that one based on the severity of your hemorrhoids. Here's one remedy you can try - Collinsonia Root Powder Collinsonia is a vegetable, known as "Stone Root" because of it hardness. It comes in powder and liquid. Stone Root is found in Canada and in Florida. It has been found quite helpful in aiding hemorrhoids.Linda Clark in her book called, Linda Clark's Handbook of natural remedies for common ailments, 1976, says this about collinsonia root. "I have heard people rave enthusiastically about the results of this remedy, which works quickly." It's benefits come from,	Supporting blood vessel contractions and flow	Reducing irritation and inflammation of veins	Providing a tonic effect on weaken veins, capillaries, and tissue	Improving digestion	Helping to keep mucus membranes healthySecondly, you need to do something about becoming regular and to eliminate mild or chronic constipation. To start with, do these simple changes in your diet.	Eat fruits as a snack between meals ? oranges, apples, bananas, prunes, grapefruits, mangos, watermelon, grapes, cherries.	Stop eating bread, flour products, milk, sodas, back off on eating a lot of protein.	Eat a few serving of vegetables during the day ? green lettuce, celery, carrots, and so on	Drink at least 2-3 glasses of water every day or drink more water than you normally do.The third thing you need to do is add some exercise to your daily routine. It can be any thing as long it is something you like and you do it regularly ? walking, swimming, or rebounding. Don't over exercise; all you need is 10 ? 20 minutes per day. There you have it, the threes step to getting rid of hemorrhoids ? a hemorrhoid natural remedy, a slight change in your diet, and 10 minutes of daily exercise that you like..

Decorating for a kids party can be cheap and easy, yet impressive, if you have the basics in place and use a little imagination and advance planning. Follow these simple guidelines for kids party decorations: GREETING SIGN: A greeting sign in your front yard or on your door is a nice way to welcome party guests. Match it to the party theme and colors. For a construction party write "Caution: Work Zone" in black on a yellow background. For a luau party, draw orange, yellow and pink leis around the word "Aloha". A western party sign could say "Welcome to the O.K. Corral". With just a little imagination, a homemade sign can be better than a store-bought one and you'll be complimented on your ingenuity to boot! BALLOONS: Balloons are a must for every kids party. They are cheap, colorful, and every kid loves them! Choose the balloon color to complement your party theme. For example, two shades of green for a jungle party, orange and black for a Halloween party, yellow and orange for a construction party, and so on. Assorted helium-filled balloons can be bunched and anchored in the middle of the party table as a centerpiece, or attached from the light fixture in the center of the room. I always get a special birthday mylar which relates to the party theme and tie it to the birthday child's chair. A balloon arch is an impressive way to direct guests to the party area. Simply attach helium- filled balloons to a ribbon about every 12 inches and secure it to the ground on either side of your doorway. Remember to attach a few balloons to your mailbox to show guests where the party is. Be sure you have enough balloons to give one to each party guest as they leave. CREPE PAPER: Another cheap and easy party decoration is crepe paper. Tie four to six pieces from the center light fixture in the room extending to the corners and walls. Twist as you go and secure with masking tape or rubber cement, both of which are easily removed after the party is over. For an extra fancy effect, twist two different colors of crepe together. Attach a couple of balloons over the crepe paper ends to cover any tape or glue. Hang crepe paper strips in doorways similar to the 60's beaded look. Alternate colors for more visual interest. Balloons and crepe paper alone are enough to give your party area a fun and festive atmosphere. TABLE DECORATIONS: Personalize your party table with some homemade embellishments. Start with a tablecloth designed by the party child. Cut a length of butcher paper and let him or her decorate it with colorful markers, crayons, pictures cut from magazines, construction paper shapes let the imagination run wild! Then, sandwich your child's creation between a colored plastic tablecloth and a clear one, so it can be appreciated by all, yet protected from spills. Use one or more of your child's toys relating to the party theme as a centerpiece. For example, a large teddy bear for a teddy bear picnic party, a grouping of Barbies for a dolly party, a cowboy hat for a western party - you get the idea. You can even anchor a balloon bouquet to your unique centerpiece. Curl several lengths of curling ribbon and lay on the table surrounding your centerpiece. Add a few sprinkles of party confetti it even comes in different themes to complete the effect. COSTUMES: You may not think of costumes as decorations, but they are! They just happen to be adorning people, not walls or tables! It's fun for the party hosts and party child to dress with the party theme, even if it's just a hat, funny glasses, or themed T-Shirt. This conveys a playful mood to get your party going in a festive spirit. If you plan your theme several months ahead, you can anticipate your needs and take advantage of sales and discounts to keep the cost of decorations down. Keep a storage container of party decorations you see on close-out throughout the year. If you throw an annual party on Halloween, Valentine's Day or other holiday, shop the day after the holiday for deeply discounted items and save them in your party container for the following year's party. Follow these simple kids party decorating tips, and you'll reap the benefits with rave reviews from party guests and parents alike!.

Dieting is not easy. If it were, we would probably all be thin. Since we are not, here are some tips that successful people use to lose weight so that others can benefit, too. SUCCESS TIP NO. 1: DRINK 8-10 GLASSES OF WATER EACH DAYOkay, for many people this is a big problem. Water doesn't taste all that great generally because water doesn't really "taste" like anything. Drinking water 8 to 10 times each day gets easier the more you actually do it. It is simply a matter of conditioning your taste buds, and yourself, so that it becomes easier to do. Once you get started, you will begin to crave water. To begin with, you should drink a glass of water in the morning first thing, before you eat. This is probably the easiest glass you will drink all day and it will help you remember to drink water all day long. Better yet, why not drink two glasses? If you really cannot bear the taste of water, try using a water purifying pitcher or filter. You can also add a few drops of lemon or lime to your water ? but no sugar or sweetener! Ice also helps.Check out flavored waters on the market, too. Just keep an eye out for additives.SUCCESS TIP NO. 2: EAT BREAKFASTDo not skip breakfast. If you need to go to bed a little earlier so that you can get up 20 minutes earlier each morning ? do it! Breakfast is so important to your good health and to weight control. According to Dr. Barbara Rolls a professor of nutrition at Penn State University, "Your metabolism slows while you sleep, and it doesn't rev back up until you eat again." Eating breakfast is not only good for overall weight loss, it will help you stay on track with your diet the rest of the day. You are more likely to binge on something sweet and in the "bread" group if you skip breakfast. You can always keep a couple of hard-boiled eggs in the fridge or some high-fiber, low starch fruit around. If you plan to eat fruit at all during the day, breakfast is the perfect time to do it.SUCCESS TIP NO. 3: EAT AT LEAST 3 MEALS AND 2 SNACKS EACH DAYThis can be one of the hardest adjustments to make. After all, you are busy! You already have a "full-plate". When do you have time to worry about filling your plate with more frequent meals?Just like eating breakfast will increase your metabolism, so will eating more often. This will also help you curb your bad-carb intake by making sure that your snacks are planned and occur regularly throughout the day. Really, it will just take a minimal investment of planning time at the grocery store and at home each morning before you head out for the day to make some healthy food choices and prepare a few healthy snacks and meals. For suggestions, just see the handy list of snacks and appetizers listed later.SUCCESS TIP NO. 4: AVOID WHITE FOODSThis is one easy way to remember what not to eat. If it is made from sugar, flour, potatoes, rice or corn - just say no. Remembering this rule of thumb will make it easier to recognize those rice cakes as an unhealthy high-carb snack.Always look for colorful fruits and veggies to substitute for the white ones. Buy broccoli, lettuce, bell peppers, green beans and peas, brown rice in moderation, leafy greens like kale and spinach, apples, melons, oranges and grapes. These foods are not only colorful they are also high in fiber, nutrients and important antioxidants. Eating colorful fruits and vegetables will give your diet variety as well as give you added health benefits.SUCCESS TIP NO. 5: EAT YOUR VEGGIESIt is so easy to use a low-carb diet as an excuse for poor nutrition. Resist this temptation. If the only vegetable you have eaten in the last 5 years has been the potato, now is a good time to begin experimenting with other vegetables. This is important for your overall health and to avoid some nasty side effects of not getting enough fiber in your diet. If you try hard enough, you will find vegetables that you enjoy eating. Experiment with grilling veggies and cooking with real butter to add flavor. You can also search for new recipes on the Internet or in cookbooks. Remember, if you are only eating 40 grams of carb a day or less, two cups of plain salad greens contain only about 5 grams of carbohydrate. You have no excuse not to eat your veggies.SUCCESS TIP NO. 6: PREPARE YOUR OWN FOOD AS MUCH AS POSSIBLEWhile more and more restaurants are offering low-carb friendly menu items, many of them are still not ideal low-carb fare. There are many recipes for quick and easy meals that you can prepare yourself at home. Try to do this as often as possible. If you cook your own foods, you know exactly what the contents are and you will be able to better control for hidden sugar and otherwise processed foods.Another benefit is the cost savings over the long run. Even if you must go to the grocery store more often, you will save a significant amount per meal as opposed to eating at restaurants and fast food establishments. It will also be easier to maintain your diet with your own favorite fresh food selections on hand.SUCCESS TIP NO. 7: INVEST IN A GOOD SET OF FOOD STORAGE CONTAINERSHaving food storage containers of various sizes on hand will make it so much easier for you to plan your meals and snacks. When you buy nuts, fruits and vegetables in bulk you can simply prepare, separate and store them for easy use later. For instance, you can pre-slice your apples and snack on them over several days. Simply cut them, rinse them in pineapple or lemon juice and store. This will make a quick and easy snack for later. Fix your lunch and take it with you to work. Better yet, fix your lunch and 2 snacks for work.SUCCESS TIP NO. 8: EAT SOME PROTIEN AT EACH MEAL & AS A SNACKIn addition to everything that's been discussed before, eating protein helps you burn more calories. Jeff Hample, Ph.D., R.D., a spokesman for the American Dietetic Association says that, "Protein is made up mainly of amino acids, which are harder for your body to breakdown, so you burn more calories getting rid of them." Just think ? eating a protein rich snack can help you lose weight. How about a few slices of turkey or ham or some string cheese?Eating protein will also help you feel full so that you are less likely to crave unhealthy snacks.SUCCESS TIP NO. 9: DRINK A GLASS OF WATER AFTER EACH SNACKThis will help you get in your 8 to 10 glasses of water each day but it can also have other benefits. Ever feel hungry after eating a handful or standard serving of nuts? Try drinking water afterwards. The water will help you feel full and prevent overindulgence.Drinking water after a snack will also help remove the aftertaste from your mouth and can help curb your desire for more.SUCCESS TIP NO. 10: EAT SLOWLY & ENJOY YOUR FOODYou will feel full and more satisfied if you take the time to savor your food and chew it slower. Don't get in the habit of eating while standing or eating quickly. Sit down and chew.Eating slower will help you enjoy your food more, pay attention to what it is you are actually eating and get a better sense of when you are actually full..

I bet you're wondering: Where does my time go and what can I do to have more of it? Join the club. We are all in the same boat! Speaking of boats, close your eyes for a moment and imagine you're on a cruise in the Mediterranean. There is nothing passing through your mind other than the tranquility of this pure moment. You have just experienced purity, clarity, relaxation, and having quality time. How do you get that same quality time into your daily life? The Gift of TimeHow many times have you said to yourself: "There is never enough time" or "Where did the time go today?" Our society moves fast and works hard. We rarely think about the wonderful free things in life. The air, mountains, oceans, blue sky, sun, moon, and YOUR TIME! Time is a great gift, given to all of us at birth. It is yours, you own it. It's priceless? and it's free. What you do with it is your choice. It can make you more successful, relaxed, confident, happy, and give you that same cruise-ship feeling in your daily life. We tend to take Time for granted because it's there with us every day, in our faces. It almost has its own voice saying: "So, what are you going to do with me today?" ANALOGY: Time is a natural resource. It is energy? just like oil, hydrogen, and electricity. These forms of energy have to be harnessed and stored and so does Time. Two examples of this might be: Someone calls you to arrange for lunch, dinner, a run, a meeting, or to attend an event with your children. What do you do? You look at your appointment book or PDA and say: "I can do it, I'll block that time out." This suggests you are organized and have your time under control. You look at your appointment book or PDA and say," I just don't have the time, I can't do it." If this happens repeatedly, it suggests that you don't have your time under control. In the first example, your time was stored, like energy. When energy is needed, it is drawn on and distributed to a planned destination. Stored time can be distributed like it was in the first example. The Speed of TimeWe all complain about how fast time moves, the days, weeks, months, and all of the sudden, it's, "I don't believe it, the year is over!" The solution is simple: Time is not managed in the abstract; time is managed through organizing your home and workplace. When your home and workplace are organized, your time and life are managed. Research has proven this point over and over. Two hours of productive time are wasted each day through disorganization and clutter, causing stress and pressure, never allowing for that cruise-ship moment. How many of us are guilty of occasionally not being able to find car keys, sunglasses, reading glasses, file folders, a favorite blouse, the TV remote, telephone hand set, cell phone or even a pen? I have a friend who found the TV remote in the fridge, the car keys in the trash, his glasses under the hood of the car. None of this was a result of short-term memory loss. It was a result of disorganization. Time is like the speed of sound. It moves at mach speeds, nano seconds. In 1942 Franklin Roosevelt said it best: "Never before have we had so little time in which to do so much." Sixty-three years later, we still have so little time to do so much. The speed of time will not change. Nor will the cultural mix of people throughout the world. It started in the 1200s with the great seagoing explorers. Their early connection with the other side of the world not only accelerated our perception of time, but it also involved our exposure to other cultures. I tell you this to illustrate a point. One of our concerns today is other nations. That may sound a little political, but that's not the intention. The intention is to put into perspective how we got to this fast moving pace. As the world comes closer together, it seems to move faster. None of us can do anything about this. It's just going to happen. Ships, trains, the telegraph, telephone, automobiles, air, one-way radios, two-way radios, the mail system, television, satellite dishes, UPS, FedEx, mail order, computers, cell phones, the Internet. All of these contribute to our fast-moving world. Bottom line, they help our lives. We get more, it's more convenient. Is that good? Yes. These technologies have provided more opportunity to work remotely and from home, to stay connected with business and family. Does it make you want to hide sometimes? You bet! So how can you deal with this dizzying pace? By finding your own internal rhythm?your speed. The challenge is not to keep up with the speed of time and life around you, but to find your personal rhythm and balance. How do you get in touch with this rhythm? By being organized. The best time management courses in the world will not bring you more time. They will help you to manage your daily schedule, but if your home and workplace are not organized, your time and life will not be organized. The Origin of ClutterHow did disorganization and clutter get into our lives? The answer is our heritage and our environment. If you think about it, our ancestors came on boats to the New World, bringing with them only their prized possessions; they were the first pack rats. Their landing was the beginning of America's FAST-moving society. They had to move fast to survive, get their families settled, find work, get ahead. That early pioneering spirit established our momentum and we've never looked back! How does this relate to organizing and managing your time? What we inherited is hard to shake. The reason why so many people have clutter, which leads to disorganization and time loss, is their inability to let go, to decide to get rid of unnecessary or inactive items that have been around for years. Most of this attitude is a result of our past. Holding on to those possessions. I present this brief history to give you a perspective, an understanding of the past so you can relate it to the present and future. Most people have allowed clutter to build up, hanging on to the old because they have accepted it as part of life. They do not want to make any lifestyle changes. This is not about lifestyle change; this is about getting more out of life by taking control of time and space. When you don't have control of time and space, time and space have control over you.Your HomeThe answer is in your home, where your day begins and ends. Starting with your bedroom. As simple as it sounds, an unmade bed is clutter. If you launch your day in a cluttered room, your entire day will feel cluttered and unclear. Your bedroom should be a tranquil place, like your mind on the cruise ship. When your bedroom, closet, bathroom and dresser drawers are organized, you have achieved the first step in taking control of your time. This personal space is the model and sets the tone to organize and manage your home and workplace. When you have accomplished this you are TIME READY. Ready, organized, and prepared to take advantage of opportunities. There is no greater feeling than returning to an organized space at the end of each day, one that is calm and relaxing, and gives you that cruise-ship moment. Planning and Storing TimeWhen your home and workplace are organized you are ready to plan. Failing to plan is planning to fail. TIME AWARENESS ? a skill that evolves from managing your time. Being aware of what you can realistically accomplish in one hour or one day. A task list is a time-management tool. A daily task list is like a road map. Driving without one in unfamiliar territory causes time loss. The result of planning and managing your daily task is time control, having time on your side. When you do this you have extra time, the two hours of wasted time before you had time under control. Productive HoursWe all have in us what I call TIME EFFICIENCY. These are the peak periods in our morning, afternoon, or evening. When you discover this source?your peak period? you will find that your mind and body will perform with more clarity, and that your coordination and energy level will feel like that of an athlete. Plan your personal and work activities during these hours. If you have a difficult decision to make, a challenging meeting, a document, presentation to create or an important conversation on personal matters, do them when you are at your best and you will experience the pleasure of success and relief. This use of your most productive hours will provide you with additional confidence to make your rhythm work in the speed around you.ProcrastinationHow does procrastination play a roll in organizing and taking control of time? It delays progress. Why does it exist? Fear. Putting things off because they are too difficult, too overwhelming. Why does this happen? Mostly because of overload, taking on too much, resulting in too many pending and incomplete tasks. Procrastination contributes to time loss. A good way to manage procrastination is by prioritizing. When you have identified your most productive hours of your day, schedule challenging tasks in that period. ClutterLet's talk more about clutter. It's everywhere. Clutter can take control of your life. It mutates, changes and appears differently. It exists in your fridge, pantry, closets, drawers, bathrooms, purse, wallet, briefcase, pockets, file folders, desk, and car. It can have an exhausting effect. Clutter causes VISUAL OVERLOAD. It's a mind clogger. How do you control it? By stopping it before the assault. Simple examples of daily infiltrators are the mail, magazines, newspapers, packages, shopping bags, groceries, grocery bags, cleaning, new clothes, athletic items, and toys. The only way to fend off the onslaught is to stop it upon entry. Go on the offensive. Mail that has built-in categories is easy to deal with?catalogs, junk mail, magazines, important. If you pick up your mail at the post office, sort it there. Saves time and stops clutter building. If it is delivered to your home, sort it upon entry. Evaluate the magazines you really read, not what you think you like or may read. Magazines are an expense. If you add up your annual subscription fees, which you probably don't even know, they could be between $600.00 and $1000.00. Magazines, junk mail, catalogs, and newspapers are the biggest clutter builders. If you are not buying from the catalog companies, call them and ask for your name to be removed from their list. If you are not reading your daily newspapers, you don't need them. If you find that you are keeping several magazines partially read, it means that your interest level is not high enough. If you don't have a recycling area to collect what has been read, you need one. Clarity and the Clear MindWhen you have your life organized, you have clarity, which allows your mind to roam free and think thoughts other than: "Now where did I leave that remote?" By clearing the clutter, you're also freeing the mind, relieving stress and the things that add to our frustrations. Suddenly your mind is clear of the negative thinking "Boy this house is a mess." And in its place are more serene thoughts, those cruise ship moments that, by the way, can add up to a full cruise.Happy Sailing!.

Last week I explained how to measure your existing sliding glass door so you can order the vinyl replacement door. This week I am going to go over the steps required to remove the old sliding door before installing the new door.First, you have to remove the sliding panel and the stationary panel. The vast majority of doors out there have the sliding panel on the inside half of the track, and the stationary panel is on the outside. Whatever the case in your particular door, the outside panel has to come out first. To remove the fixed panel, you need to remove the sill cap that snaps into the bottom track and runs from the fixed panel to the side jamb where the sliding panel locks. Force a screwdriver into the crease and pry the cap up. Then, look for screws on the inside side jamb holding the fixed panel in place. These screws prevent someone from prying up the sill cap and pulling out the fixed panel in order to gain entry into the home. In addition to the side jamb, be sure to check across the top header and bottom track for screws there as well. Once all the screws have been removed, you need to pull the fixed panel away from the side jamb. You can start by simply grabbing the side rail of the fixed panel and pulling as hard as you can. If you're lucky, the panel will pop free. Then you can lift the panel up as far as it will go into the top channel and swing the bottom away from the track, and remove the panel. Now, I said "if you're lucky", because in most cases the panel will be stuck in the side jamb, the bottom track, or both. Usually, you're going to have to use a pry bar to loosen the fixed panel before it will slide out of the side jamb. Once the fixed panel is out, removal of the sliding panel is usually easier. Just lift up and swing the bottom away from the track, then remove the panel. Sometimes the bottom rollers will prevent the bottom from swinging out of the track. If that's the case, you will need to find the roller adjustment hole in the bottom corners of the sliding panel. Put a screwdriver into this hole and turn the screw counterclockwise to bring the roller as far up into the bottom of the sliding panel as possible. This should allow the slider to come out. Now, you want to remove all the screws from the side jambs, top header, and bottom track. Then, take a pry bar and get it under the bottom track about in the center. Pry up until the track is separated from the floor. The next step will depend on whether your old frame is nailed to the house frame, or simply screwed in. If it's screwed in, then the frame should now be loose in the opening, since you removed all of the screws. You just need to remove whatever inside trim there might be around the door frame. This type of frame should come out. If your door is nailed to the house frame, you will have to do a bit more work. Use a hacksaw to cut the track in half, approximately in the center. Start with either half and raise the cut piece up towards the side jamb until the the track piece separates from the side jamb. Do the same thing to the other half. So, now you have to remove the side jambs. You want to do this without damaging the exterior material that surrounds the door frame. Take a heavy chisel and pound it into the crack between the frame and exterior material, whether it's stucco, siding, etc. Start at the bottom 6 inches first. What you are trying to do is pull the nail fin away from the nails holding it in place. So, once the chisel is pounded through the metal frame, pry away from the side wall. The heavier and longer the chisel, the more leverage you will have. You will hear the frame "pop" free of the nail. There will be several nails holding each jamb in place, so you want to start at the bottom and work your way to the top corner. Once you get the bottom third loose, many times you can grab the jamb with both hands and pull the rest of the nails free as you go up. When you get to the top corner, work the jamb free. Do both jambs, then do the top. Sometimes the top has no nails, or just one in the center, so it will come down pretty easily. Be sure to wear safety glasses and a dust mask when doing this job, especially when removing the top header. At this point you are ready to install the new door. The installation procedure is slightly different, depending on whether you're installing a retrofit style frame or a replacement frame. We will discuss both procedures next week..

Yes, it can!I believe that water not only helps with weight loss, but is also one of the most important things to keep in mind when trying to lose weight. Here are just some of the reasons why everyone should be drinking at least eight glasses of water day.- Naturally suppresses appetite- Increases metabolism- Reduces stored fat deposits- Improves kidney function- Decreases fluid retention- Helps muscles maintain their tone- Aids in the prevention of sagging skin after weight loss- Rids the body of excess waste- Regulates bowel movements- It's Free!Aren't these enough reasons for you to start drinking your full daily intake of water? I started drinking 9 glasses a day, and I noticed a difference over night!! I lost five pounds in the course of one day, and it's stayed off. The key is to keep drinking water, or you will see the weight come back. For every 25 pounds you want to lose, drink an extra glass of water. Keep in mind however, that water can also be consumed through food such as fruits, which contain 90% water. Here are some tips to help you make sure you get your daily intake:- Make an appointment with your glass of water. Schedule certain times of the day to chug back 8 ounces at once. After you wake up in the morning, on your way to work, during a commercial, etc.- Have a water race with a friend or family member. The extra competition will help motivate you.- I bought a big 1.5L bottle and made sure I drank all of it before the end of the day. If I didn't, I told my co-workers that they had permission to dump whatever was left on my head.- Before drinking that coffee or pop, force yourself to get another glass of water down. You will probably not even want anything else after that.- When you go to the bathroom (and you will be going frequently at first), refuel yourself with another glass before going back to whatever it was that you were doing.- Measure how much water you need in a bottle or measuring cup, then you can see your goal for the day.- I played a game with myself while I was doing a puzzle. Every time I fit a piece into the puzzle, I would have to take a drink. It seems pretty silly, but it worked. I do puzzles pretty fast, so I downed almost 2 glasses in less than a half hour. Be careful though, drinking more than 48 fluid ounces can be dangerous to your health.- If you haven't reached your recommended daily intake by the end of the day, eat some of your favorite fruits to compensate.Use these ideas, or come up with your own tricks to help you reach your goal. You will notice a difference right away. I know I did. I felt better, I could see my stomach shrinking, and I found myself snacking less. It really works!.

Rainy days can be so boring for a child?and just as hard on moms. So we give some ideas to brighten your day and chase their rainy day blues away!Shadow puppetsIn a room that is fairly dark set up a flash light so it is facing a wall. Have the children make hand shadows? If they get really good at them they could even put on a little play.My box homeAs a little girl some of my best times were spent making Barbie homes out of medium card board boxes. Paints, markers, crayons, fabric scraps, glue, and so on were used to fashion wall paper curtains and the like. The ideas and possibilities are endless!Little boys can make garages for there cars as well.Magazine StoryTake ten pieces of paper. Staple them together. Have you child go threw a magazine and pick out 10 pictures to cut out. Tell him/her to paste one on each page. Now what ever order they are in the must right a story, the story should have some thing to do with the pictures on each page. This can be a real challenge but is endless fun and giggles.PuzzlesHave you child search for a few pictures they like in an old magazine. Paste these pictures onto heavy cardboard. With a paint brush, brush on a coat of clear drying glue such as Elmer's glue. Let them completely dry. Once they are dry cut them up into different shaped pieces. Now you have a puzzle for this rainy day and rainy days to come! Store in zip lock bags.Bean Bag PalsYou will need a 10x10 square of felt, thread, needle, a parent to sew, beans or rice, tacky glue and scraps of different color felts to decorate with. Mom or Dad should sew the squares together all the way around, all but about 2 inches. Turn the square inside right. Fill with the beans or rice and sew closed. It can be decorated with the scarps of felt to make animals. Googly eyes are fun to add as well but are not recommended for children under four.A Gift of Comfort. Not long ago when I was in the hospital having my son, I was given a special heat pack for my back. It was very simple and would be a great project for children to help with. My suggestion is have your child make about 30 and donate then to a labor and delivery floor.Rice Sock Heat PacksYou will need white men's tube socks ones that have no preformed heal medium is a good size. You will need uncooked white rice (not minute)You will need ribbon any color or colors you like.Gift tags that tie on.Fill each sock two inches from the top.Tie a length of ribbon tightly in a knot attach the gift card and then make a bow.On the gift tag write the instructions for use (you could make gift tags on your computer and print them all out) Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until it reaches the desired warmth. Enjoy! These work great, stay warm for a long time. If your child makes them to give away it is an added bonus of pride!Dress UpMy children have a tote full of dress up clothing. I did it inexpensively threw yard sales, Dollar Stores, Halloween clearances and Good Will. I pick up things such as jewelry, hats, sun glasses, badges, fancy dresses, costumes and other articles of interest. Many times I save new things to add on a rainy day or another day they have nothing to do. It generates new interest and hours of play. One reader even mentioned the idea of theme boxes. Such as a fairy box if that was what your little girl was into or a princess or a firemen ect. I think that is a good idea for but also I believe a good mix of things inspires imagination and creativity.Driving MatA huge poster board or cardboard is great to let your little one paint roads on for his cars In fact I bought my sons a light colors rug remnant (it was cheap) about 4x5 .It can be any size you like. My sons used fabric paints on the rug. They painted lakes, roads, airports trees and so on. If you decided to do the poster board you can use crayons or markers as well. They had a really great time making this one rainy day and still enjoy it to this day. When they are done they just roll it up and put it away. Card board milk cartons can be saved and painted to make little decorative houses and stores as well as stores to place on their car mat. Be sure to wash them well, dry them and staple them closed.? 2003-2004Jennifer & Gregory Gove.

Question: I AM a 23-year-old female. What is the cure for sinusitis ? I have been taking cod liver oil, vitamin C, and Horseradish and Garlic supplements for the past four month. Will it cure my sinusitis or only lessen the virus ? Answer : SINUSITIS refers to an inflammation of the mucous membrane that lines the sinus of the skull. Sinus is a cavity that is usually filled with air or blood. Sinuses are located close to the nasal cavities and also near the ear. Therefore, infection of sinusitis travels from the mouth, nose and throat along the mucous membrane lining. A person, who is suffering from sinusitis, may experience severe headache over the affected sinus area and the nose may be blocked on the affected side. Allergy, repeated attacks of acute sinusitis or inadequate treatment of acute sinusitis combined with nasal obstruction cause a chronic sinusitis (long-standing). Acute (short-lived) sinusitis is caused by nasal infection in which the sinuses become blocked by the common cold or by any feverish respiratory illness such as influenza. Other than that, acute sinusitis may also be caused by a dental abscess, a fracture of bone in the face or sudden pressure change. Good immunity is the basic way to fight against sinusitis, and lessen the allergy and virus that contribute to it. Consider taking zinc supplement containing vitamin C as they are useful to boost or strengthen immune system. The recommended daily dosage for the zinc is 15mg. Echinachea is known to enhance body's immune system by stimulating the body's natural defence mechanisms by stimulating the production of macrophages, the white blood cells that eat foreign particles. It also has anti-viral and natural antibiotic properties. Horseradish and Garlic are also encouraged supplements for those having chronic sinusitis. They are effective in treating throat and upper respiratory tract infections. Horseradish produces volatile oil that works as nasal and bronchial dilator. Simultaneously, it helps to clear stuffy nose or sinuses. Turmeric is also a strong anti-inflammatory agent that is useful for treating nasal congestion problems. Diet-wise, you should avoid common food allergens such as milk, eggs, corn, and peanut butter, caffeinated and sugared drink. Ensure that your place is dust-free and clean. Adhere to a well-balanced diet, regular exercise, eight glasses of water daily and adequate rest. Include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in the daily diet..
